Company Identity Research

For our end of term assignment we had to create a company identity. Which involved coming up with a concept for a business, logo, business card, some sort of packaging and a store poster.

Being a pretty free assignment, I decided to choose something that was of interest to me, being a musician, I chose to create a musical instrument company identity. I wasn't sure at first whether I wanted to create a broader company like 'Ashton' who specialise in a variety of instruments or a company such as 'Gibson' or 'Fender' who specialise mainly in one instrument (guitars).

After researching and playing around with ideas, I found out that most traditional guitar companies take the name of a surname, (Gibson, Marshall, Jackson). And the most different, out there companies have unique names such as 'Daisy Rock', 'Washburn', 'ESP', with exceptions like 'B.C. Rich' guitars.

Logos mainly focus around typography. I really like the design of the Gibson logo. It has a really nice look and feel to it.

Rap/Hip hop CD Cover for Luke

I really hope I got this right, this is the CD cover we were asked to design and photograph for Luke's class. I don't really listen to that kind of music so this put me out of my comfort zone a bit. Anyways, I hope you like it :)

Website Frontpages

We were asked to create new frontpages for Peterson's Jewelers and Peterson's Earthmoving. We only had about 15-20mins or less on each.

Composition Assigment

5 Composites for our assignment. At least 30% had to be vectored, and the rest (70%) photography/photoshopwork. NOTE: These images are all very LOW RES copies of the images.

Cultural Colours

I thought this was interesting.

Funeral/Mourning Colours.

Western: Black

Asian: White

In Thailand purple is worn by the mourning as well, but generally by the widowed.

Disney

This is another old one.

We did this one with luke after the simpson character. We had to choose a disney character and vector it. Then i went over it in photoshop with the dodge and burn tools.

Batmobile

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na... BATMAN....

We had to vectorize a car of any sort for Luke's class a while back.
I'm not really into that sort of thing so i chose the batmobile.
I finally got around to finishing it. That gradient mesh tool is awesome once you figure out how to use it :)
